Welcome to this new site for the community of Radstock, Midsomer Norton and surrounding areas.  This site is far from finished, however I thought its best to get it up and running and then expand it as quickly as I can. This first post is to get some information across to you new visitors.

The primary goal of the nortonradstock.com site is to attract people into it by making it full of content and things of interest.  I have loads of ideas and things to roll out over the coming months, so please keep visiting as it takes form.  The best way to keep informed on new additions to the site is via the RSS feed, or follow “nortonradstock” on twitter.  Not sure what all this yuppie stuff is then just bookmark us and come visit.

There is so much to do I have to phase things.  What I am really concentrating right now is on the classifieds for all the local contacts of shops, services, businesses, social groups, events, clubs etc.  I also have what I call some premium front page spots on the site.  These are the big advert areas on the front of the site called “Featured”, “News”, “What’s on” and the top big animated area.  Supply me with some good pictures and a write up and you will get slotted in pride of place.  These areas are limited. To submit information please go to our “Contact Page” where you can use the form or email us.

Next up will be the community media.  We have our own dedicated YouTube video vault so send me your video links and they will be reviewed and added to this site.  Also our Flickr vault will have photos of the area and events we cover.  Again contact us and we can include them.  For the more professional movie makers who want to showcase their videos then again contact us and we can add you.

Any one with a web site are welcome to link to us and we will complement a link to you.  Our intention is to grow and draw visitors in.  Together we can all benefit.

Well I think that’s it for the first post, with out giving away too much of what’s coming up.
